Playa Vista Group Rules and Terms of Service

This is a FREE Facebook group to come together to share local Playa Vista news and area events, to seek and receive recommendations/insights/tips to living in this wonderfully amazing community, keep updated on relevant crime information because we hate those bad guys, and most importantly support one another because we’re all neighbors after all.

MEMBERSHIP

This group is open to anyone.  If you live, work, or play in Playa Vista you are welcome.  And because we want to maintain a supportive environment, sticking to these rules are going to be VERY important:

1.  NO ADVERTISING

There is NO self-promotion of your business or services.  You may reply to a post seeking recommendation only but that’s the only time.

If you want to run an ad to the group, you can become one of our Group Sponsors.  Businesses may be highlighted to the group through the paid ad sponsorship program only.  Email us (info@mannyvista.com) for more details.

2. NO FOR SALE POSTS

Posts that offer the sale of items will not be approved.  Please utilize Facebook Marketplace for selling items and LAPD E-Commerce Exchange Zones to conduct in-person transactions.

3.  DON’T BE A JERK

If you don’t like a post, ignore it.  As long as you don’t comment on it, you won’t get notified if others do.  Facebook gives you the option to hide the post as well.  Don’t voice your opinion toward someone (whom you probably don’t even know) in an aggressive tone. Say it out loud before you post it, and ask yourself if you’d say it to someone in person.   Be civil and polite.  Respect people’s feelings and privacy.  If you’re rude & disrespectful, we’ll have to ban you.

4.  DON’T FACEBOOK YOUR PROBLEMS, FACE THEM

If you have a complaint or bad experience you want to share about a business, PVPAL, your HOA, etc, we ask that before you share, that you deal with that issue on its own level first.  If someone treated you badly and you come here to vent, let’s hear how you addressed it at the source in your post.  Pick up the phone, send an email to the person in charge, arrange a meeting with a supervisor and tell the person properly how you feel or were mistreated.  This is more likely to lead to reconciliation.

5.  BE HELPFUL

This group was started in good faith so we expect good faith in return.  Ask questions, give answers. Share awesome local events and news related to PV.  Provide genuine and helpful feedback to others.  Be the supportive friends that you’d want if you needed help.  If we all gave more than we take, this group will continue to be as awesome as it is.

6. DON’T BREAK THE RULES

Your post will deleted and you may be removed from the group without warning.  We do this to ensure this group remains spam-free and can serve you in the BEST way possible.  If you don’t agree with ALL of these rules, kindly remove yourself from the group.
