It seems that we still have friends and neighbors who are leaving things that are attractive to thieves in their cars. Burglary/Theft from vehicles are almost double what they were this time last year and the area that is being hit the hardest is along Lincoln from Manchester to the bluff and the 2-3 streets to the east and west of Lincoln. This crime is generally avoidable – do not leave property in your car and especially do not leave it in plain sight. It is typical that 30%-50% of the time, cars that are burglarized have been left unlocked. That is why LAPD tells us “LOCK IT, HIDE IT, KEEP IT”
